2009-07-09Age Of Best Competitive PlayWhile it is acknowledged and recognized that preteen players should be allowed to pursue playing opportunities that meet both their interest and ability level, we strongly discourage environments where players below the age of twelve are forced to meet the same ""competitive"" demands as their older counterparts therefore we recommend the following:
1.50% playing time
2.no league or match results
3.8 v 8 at U12

2009-09-04RSC Practice Schedule ReleasedThe Richfield Soccer Club has announced their 2009 Fall Practice Schedule. In keeping with KMSL guidelines, practices will be held weekly with the location determined by the individual clubs or coaches. Each team is required to hold one practice session per week and is not permitted, under any circumstances, to hold more than three hours of practice per week. An additional hour of practice is permitted during the two weeks preceding the first scheduled game. A practice game or scrimmage is considered a practice session.

All KMSL coaches are volunteers who donate a good deal of their time so that your children can have fun playing soccer. Please see that your child understands his/her responsibility as a team member and attends the practices as well as games, and notifies the team coach in advance when he/she cannot be in attendance. A player who consistently attends and effectively participates in practice will play at least half of the game.

In general, the Head Coach will provide parents with the time and place of their scheduled practices. You can find a consolidated practice schedule by following the Schedules link on our Home Page.

The board will meet at 6:00pm.

Agenda will come out a few days before.

2010-06-02KMSL Tournament Schedule PostedThe final schedule for all levels of the KMSL Tournament has been posted to our KMSL Registration Page. This is in the form of an Excel spreadsheet.

If you have not yet submitted your players waivers please remember to bring them with you to the administration tent when you check in on June 5th.

At the administration tent you will receive participation medals, t-shirts and programs for all your players. You will also receive a card with your game times and locations for the day. This card will also indicate how many players on your team have signed waivers and are authorized to play that day. You will need to show this card to the ref at the start of each of your games. Please allow time before your first game to check in especially if there are any outstanding waiver forms that need to be turned in.

To read the schedule, look for your team name. There will be a game number to the right of your team name. When you look down or up that column there will be another team with the same number. That is the team you will play against. To the right of that is the game time and then to the right of that the field you will be playing your game on. The same is true for your second game. Any questions please ask.

Remember: Fun, Fitness, and Fair Play. Looking forward to seeing all of you on June 5th!

Anne Becker
2010 Tournament Director

2010-09-11Start Of Season NotesTo All Soccer Club Members-

Our Fall season is now well under way with a lot of good action. In our Schedules section, you will find the photo schedule and order form for the Oct. 2, 2010 photo day. If a team needs a time change, limited changes can be made by having the coach contact Mark Brazell. Please plan to arrive early and be ready at your teams assigned time to keep the schedule on track. Even if you do not plan to order pictures please be present for the photo so that the team photo is complete.

We have re-arranged the player benches on the U-9/U-10 fields to be the same as the U-12 and U-14. Please have parents on the bleacher side of the field and the teams each take a bench on the same side of the field. U-9 & U-10 coaches please note that you may need to point this out to the visiting coach.

For future planning, Feb. 19, 2011 is the KMSL WAVE game when soccer club players get discounted tickets. There are exhibition scrimmage games held before the game that various age levels get to participate in. We will need to tell the Kettle Moraine Soccer Board what age level we would have enough representation at to field a team and coach. Therefore coaches and parents should be prepared in mid-October to indicate if they are likely to attend so that we can commit to what level we could have an exhibition team.

2011-02-23New Opportunity For U15 PlayersAttention Soccer Parents,

We wanted to make everyone in the Richfield Soccer Club aware that Germantown Soccer Club will field 2 U15 boys teams this spring. One will play in MYRSL "A" and the other in "B". The "A" team is for the more competitive player and maybe someone on the high school team. This team has an outside paid coach with a USSF D license. The "B" team is coached by a parent with over 15 years coaching experience and also has a USSF D license, but he is volunteer. His approach is a little more laid-back and gears his team to the kid that wants to continue playing, but is busy with school and other activities.

Both teams are looking for additional players this coming spring season.

The Germantown Soccer Club has said they would like to provide the kids of Richfield Soccer Club an opportunity to continue playing beyond U14, close to home. Their goal is not to take away from the RSC program, but to provide our players additional opportunities after they graduate out of the program.

If you think your player might be interested, please send an email to our U12/U14 Director, Catherine Henn, at u12u14director@richfieldsoccerclub.com and we can get you in touch with the right people.

2011-03-28Richfield Spring 2011 Soccer Starts Soon!Hello Richfield Soccer Families-

The snow is gone. The sun is shining, now we just need warmer temperatures!!
The Coaches and volunteers for the club will have a spring kick off meeting on Tuesday, March 29 at 7:00pm at the Village Hall.

It is time to check cleats and shin guards. We have a box with about 15 pair of cleats and a few shin guards that are used, but in good condition. The box will be outside the village hall door on March 29 at 7:00pm and is available for inspection at the concession stand during Saturday game days. This is a free exchange box. Take a pair or leave a pair as needed.

All coaches should be contacting their teams this week to confirm their practice times. Practices may start on April 2.

The season schedule will be finalized today and will be sent out to the coaches within the next few days. Generally games for all levels, including U-6, will start on April 16 and finish May 28. The league tried to accommodate known conflicts with the Easter weekend and Memorial Day weekend by placing those games on a week night. Some teams will still play on the holiday weekends, but those that knew in advance that they would be missing several players have been switched to minimize in-season changes.

Remember to visit our concession stand during the home games. Each team is responsible to help in the concession stand at some point during the season. Please step up and help. Concession revenue keeps the cost of the program down.
The KMSL tournament is June 4, 2011. ALL families are expected to help with the many volunteer needs as this is a fund raising event for the club. Coaches will be getting the tournament information and will need to get waivers signed by parents and returned. Coaches must submit the tournament registration form no later than April 30. The tournament fee for Richfield teams is included in the player registration fee that was paid for the season. NO additional money needs to be collected by the coaches.

All parents are strongly encouraged to read through the Parent Handbook on the Kettle Moraine Soccer League website at: http://kmsl.homestead.com/files/Parent_Handbook_06_2010.pdf

The League would like us to remind all parents to refrain from negative yelling at players, referees and coaches. Positive and supportive cheering is allowed!

See you soon on the fields,

Mike Bagin
RFSC President
